General Counselling FAQs

Counselling provides a confidential and supportive space to explore thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Sessions are collaborative and paced according to your needs. The focus may include increasing self-awareness, developing coping strategies, processing difficult experiences, or improving relationships.

Counselling can be helpful if you are experiencing emotional distress, relationship difficulties, life transitions, stress, anxiety, grief, or simply feel “stuck.” If you are unsure, an initial consultation can help determine suitability.

Confidentiality is a core principle of counselling. Information shared in sessions remains private, except in circumstances where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, or where disclosure is required by law. Full details are explained before therapy begins.

The number of sessions varies depending on your goals and circumstances. Some clients attend short-term counselling focused on specific concerns, while others prefer longer-term therapeutic work.
